This year Valley of Flower Trek will start on 1st June. Situated in Chamoli District of Uttarakhand, the Valley of Flowers is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Valley of Flower situated inside Nanda Devi Biosphere Reserve. This place justifies the name in all possible ways, revealing plush meadows blossomed with more than 500 species of flouring plants, including endemic alpine flowers. This mesmerizing place includes a wide valley, river bed, small forests, meadows, rocky areas and caves. The trek of the Valley of flowers conducts through all these terrains. Pushpawati river is adding further beauty to this valley. The magnificent Himalayan mountains surround the valley and provide a perfect background to compliment the beauty of the landscape.
The Valley of Flowers is open for tourism from June to October. The rest of the year is covered with heavy snow. However, during the flower session in summer, it transforms into a paradise for butterflies, birds, and nature lovers. This place is also home to 120 species of birds.
Valley of Flower is approximately 8 km long and 2 km wide. From Ghangaria, it's 4 km away and requires more or less 7 hrs. Camping inside valley is not allowed.
Trekking is scheduled to close on 31st October.
